Dr Karen Cheng MB;ChB DPM FFPM
Born in Malaysia and schooled in the UK, Karen developed an early understanding of different cultures and the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on how medicines and treatments can have different effects on a patient depending on their origins and environment.
Karen is a GMC (Board) registered specialist in Pharmaceutical Medicine and has more than 20 years experience from Pre-First in Human, through all phases of Clinical Development to Submission and Regulatory approval including the EU, US and China. Primarily working in Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance in large and medium multinational pharmaceutical companies in Europe, she has also worked as a Clinical Assessor at the MHRA in the UK, and as a primary investigator in a phase I/II Biotech Start-up.
After her Undergraduate Medical Education in Manchester UK, Karen completed her Basic Surgical Training Residency in Leeds, UK before a further 4 years Orthopaedic and Trauma, and Emergency Medicine postgraduate training.
